Fort Clark. A strategic installation in the U.S. Army's line of forts along the military road stretching from San Antonio to El Paso, Fort Clark was established in June 1852.
Macie, also known as Fehlis, was a ranch community at the intersection of Farm roads 1572 and 693, eight miles southwest of Brackettville in southwestern Kinney County.
Pinto, formerly known as Newell (Newel), was a rural community located on the Texas and New Orleans Railroad and Farm Road 1572, ten miles southwest of Brackettville in southwestern Kinney County.
Standart, also known as Buckner, was at the intersection of the Southern Pacific Railroad and Farm Road 1572, two miles south of U.S. Highway 90 and twelve miles west of Brackettville in west central Kinney County.
Spofford is on the Southern Pacific Railroad at the intersection of State Highway 131 and Farm Road 1572, ten miles south of Brackettville in south central Kinney County.
Sycamore was on Sycamore Creek and the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway eighteen miles west of Brackettville in far west Kinney County. Map location (above) approximate.
Tularosa, also known as Whistler, was a ranch community twenty miles northeast of Brackettville in northeastern Kinney County.
