Zapata County Texas
Zapata County is located on U.S. Highway 83 south of Laredo in the Rio Grande Plain region of South Texas. The county, is bordered on the north by Webb County, on the east by Jim Hogg and Starr counties, and on the west by Mexico.

Courthouses
Zapata County has had four courthouses. The first courthouse was built in 1874. The 1901 Courthouse was built on land that now lies under the Falcon Reservoir. The 1953 courthouse was demolished after the opening of the 2005 courthouse.
