Tulia. The county seat of Swisher County has an estimated population at this time of 1,600. It has five churches and a public school building, built in 1907, at a cost of $18,000. There are five grain elevators, with an estimated capacity for storage of 175,000 bushels. The courthouse building is valued at $60,000 and there are two banks, four hotels, foundry and municipally owned light and water systems.
