Shiloh is a rural community located on Farm Road 542 about twenty-two miles northeast of Centerville, about eleven miles south of Oakwood, Texas and two miles west of the Trinity River in northeastern Leon County.
Settlement had probably taken place by the early 1900s, and during the 1930s highway maps showed numerous dwellings and a school in the area. By the late twentieth century Shiloh consisted of an African-American cemetery, also known as Mount Pilgrim Cemetery, and Shiloh Baptist Church.
