Miami History 1922. Miami is the county seat of Roberts County and has a population of 1,000. It has one of the best courthouses in this portion of Texas, erected in 1912. There are four grain elevators, two banks, the Bank of Miami, unincorporated, and the First State Bank of Miami. Both are strong and flourishing institutions. It has a high school which maintains full affiliation with the University of Texas ; four churches, Baptist South ; Methodist Episcopal, South ; Presbyterian, U. S.
